Bruce's 8 year stats

Bruce had his 8yr. check up today. Only concern was that his vision was borderline for maybe needing glasses. However, it was borderline last year and so it hasn't gotten worse. I might take him in for an eye exam just in case. We'll see. Other suggestion was to get him to drink milk. He doesn't like it, but since the Dr. said to drink it maybe he will now.
But, for now, Bruce continues to grow!

Jane's 5 year stats

Jane had her 5yr. check up last week. She is doing great. Her arthritis has not been an issue this entire summer. We're starting to have colder, more damp mornings now though so she has had a few mornings lately where her knees have hurt. I haven't had to give her any strong medication for a long time though. It's a huge improvement from last year and I feel confident that she'll grow out of it soon.
Other than that, she is healthy and strong.

Random Stuff from KD

I'm tired of doing dishes and laundry. It's like postal work...like postal work USED  to be anyway.

Robert thinks we should rename Relief Society to Craft Society, since that's what we usually do. That being said, I am really looking forward to Super Saturday, there are about 6 super cute things I want to make.

Bruce's soccer team still has not won a game. Bruce does well, but it's hard to watch the team lose every time. Robert and I are definitely the loudest parents on the sidelines...and proud of it. :)

Get my cpr/first aid done this Saturday.

Jane LOVES school and I'm happy with all she is learning. Loves homework. Likes to spend free time on the computer playing games. I asked her what she wanted to be for Halloween and she said, "Darth Vader". Gotta love it.

Claire and I have very quiet mornings at home. She really misses the big kids. Spends a lot of time on her bike and playing tea party. Talks your ear off. Loves to eat. She has the habit of twisting her hair, especially when she's tired. I'm trying to break her of it but it's hard. She pulls a lot of hair out that way. I told her if she keeps pulling hair out she'll look like grandpa. Wrong thing to say. She was really excited to look like him.

Bruce looks forward to CubScouts every week. Great program and he has a great leader. He loves when he has free time, which is pretty rare these days, to play his video games, legos, watch cartoons, write in his journal and play soccer with Robert.

Linda is enjoying her new bedroom downstairs. She loves the big bed and isn't scared at all to be down there at nights. Spends her free time sewing, singing, dancing, and creating things. Such a good girl. She is getting very smart.

I really love the girls in YW and hope to impact their life for good. It's been great insight for what I can expect when I have 4 teenagers. I love evey fireside and meeting. I just am trying to learn as much as I can to be prepared.

Homework

Jane got her first official homework today. She was really excited to do homework like the big kids. She's already learned so much at school and has loved every second.
I'm going to show her this picture when she's a teenager as proof that she actually did love homework at one time in her life. :)
LINDA: Linda doesn't mind homework at all. She really loves writing stories and her strength is printing and spelling. She always takes her time. She does get a little bored when there is a lot of math.
BRUCE: Bruce is good at doing his homework without complaint...as long as it is math. He loves figuring out math problems. He doesn't like writing long stories because it takes up way to much of his time. :) He is getting good at his cursive.

Happy Birthday Robert/Daddy!

Today is Robert's 36th birthday.
The kids surprised daddy with cake and ice cream when he got home from work. Ice cream was a must because everyone knows that Robert won't touch cake unless there is ice cream to go with it.
This weekend we'll do presents and Robert and I will go out.
Happy Birthday Robert! We love you!
Thanks for all you do and for all you are.

Seamstress

Linda is such a creative girl. She has a lot of patience to do tedious crafts, and she loves to be busy. One of her loves is fashion. She loves dressing up her barbies and dressing up her little sisters. :) She always helps me pick out clothes for her sisters for the next day. Her favorite show is Project Runway. She loves to watch these designers come up with and then create outfits. We have fun watching it together and discussing what we do and do not like about each outfit. When my mom was up here visiting a few weeks ago she told Linda she would teach her how to sew. Linda was so excited!! So she taught Linda basic sewing and Linda is in heaven. When she got home from her first day of school, she had a questionnaire in her backpack that asked what her favorite thing was that she did all summer. She answered: SEWING! I think this is a great thing for her and I am really going to help her pursue it. Who knows, I may get some great outfits out of it years down the road. Robert looks forward to possibly having someone that can hem his pants one day. :)
Here are her first creations. A barbie dress, barbie skirt, and a baby dress.
