Linda had her 5th grade graduation yesterday. She's had a very successful year as a 5th grader, and as student body President.
We're so excited for her. She'll do great in middle school.
She gave the Graduation Address. Instead of a boring speech she wrote a poem about the year to give. She got some laughs and a big cheer at the end.
"As we come to the end of our great Palmquist years
I think we should finish with joy - not tears.
Let's think of the good times, the memories made
Like our trip on the Sea Star and Colonial Days
We made the school proud at our camp for five days
Had fun at the dance and beach day in the waves
Now we thank our teachers who got us all here
They're as happy as we are, it's the end of the year
This 5th grade teacher led us in song
Ms. Gill taught us with love all the year long
That squid we dissected was a favorite for me
And it wouldn't have happened without Mr. B
And so many number and tests from Ms. Gillmore
She taught us so well, math's no longer a bore
If I had any advice for your 6th grade year
Be as kind and good natured as you learned to be here
Congratulations on a great 5th grade year
Now it's over, we deserve a cheer, from everyone here!!
Thank you!"
