Merry Christmas 2015!!

We've had a wonderful Christmas morning so far. Earlier this week the kids and I were able to stay with my mom and my sister's family in Palm Desert. Last night we got back in town and met Robert and the Thompson family at Pit Stop and then went to a cousin's house to exchange gifts.

This morning the kids had so much fun opening their gifts. They were so tired that Robert and I just laid in bed waiting for them to wake up!

Jane left a letter by Santa's cookies and wouldn't let me read it. This morning I had a picture frame waiting for me From Santa!! Jane asked Santa to bring it for me. So sweet! She was so excited she almost cried. Santa also left her a little note.
Enjoy some pictures of our morning!!

Christmas Season

This year we're trying to do the 12days of Christmas, doing something different each night to get us more in to the Christmas spirit. The kids slept out under the Christmas lights, we visited the lights at the temple, and we're going to make treats to share tonight. We're hoping to keep adding to the list until Christmas.

The kids have also been getting in to the Christmas spirit at school. They had a Santa night in which each of their classes sang Christmas songs. ( Robert and I both forgot cameras) Claire's class decorated a Christmas tree and is going to make gingerbread houses this week. Linda's class is having a party, and Jane's class made Christmas presents. No such luck for Bruce in middle school. It stinks to grow up.

Nativity & Santa

Our ward party included a live nativity by the primary children. Jane was Mary and Claire was a little lamb. Linda & Bruce were in the background ringing bells during the song they all sang.
They also got to visit with Santa! This is the first Christmas, since he was 3months, that Bruce didn't sit on Santa's lap. Kind of a sad thing.

Birthday Destination

Linda chose to go to Disneyland for her birthday destination. Linda and I went a couple of days before her birthday. We had a great time! We were there from open to close. Her favorite ride was Indiana Jones. We met Anna and Elsa, almost every other princess, got snowed on, rode a lot of rides,  saw a parade, and watched awesome fireworks. Aunt Sue, Uncle Andy, and Irene met us there. Here are a few pictures of the day.

Activity Days

Linda and Jane are in a church program together that's called Activity Days. They meet twice a month and do some kind of craft or activity. It's fun to see them be friends and go together. They have a lot of fun.
Here's their group when they were out for frozen yogurt.

Happy Birthday To Linda!

Linda turned 10yrs. old today! I can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday that she was a little, chubby cheeked toddler running around the house. :) Linda is a beautiful person in every way. I love her compassion for others, her quiet confidence, and her ability to find joy in the everyday moments in life. Linda has been a light in our lives since the moment we saw her.

Student of the Week - Class Representative

Jane was chosen as Student of the Week this week. She was chosen because of her ability to always speak kindly and positively to others.
We love Jane and we're so proud of her!
Jane being recognized at her school assembly. Below is Jane with her teacher.
Jane was also voted in by her classmates to be the class representative for Student Counsel. Easiest election ever. No posters or anything. :) She had fun working with Linda at the Student Store the other day and seeing her at the student counsel meeting.

Election Results

Well, election results were announced at a school assembly today and....Linda WON!!!

Linda's Presidential Campaign

Linda was 2nd Vice President at her elementary school last year. This year she decided to run for President. She ran a good campaign. Three students were running for President. It was Linda against two boys.

Here are the posters she put up around campus. The blue and green borders are glittery.

She got to make stickers to hand out. Since 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders can vote, Jane handed out stickers to 3rd graders and Linda covered the 4th and 5th graders. Of course, Claire didn't want to be left out so she insisted on wearing a LINDA THOPMSON FOR PRESIDENT sticker to school as well.
Yesterday Linda had her campaign speech in front of the school. She is so brave and did awesome!
Here she is with her friend that is running for Vice President.
She did a great job on her campaign. Tomorrow we get the results. We'll be happy either way.

Halloween 2014

2014 The Costumes

 Clark Kent
 cowgirl
 witch
50's girl
We've already attended 2 Halloween parties.
The kids are excited to go trick-or-treating this Friday.
For them, the best part of Halloween is all of them dumping their candy out when they get home and making deals to trade candy.

Reunion

The entire Prettyman family was able to be together for a little while over this past weekend. It was so nice to have everyone together. It had been many years. We had a photo shoot to capture everyone.

A First for Claire

Claire lost her first tooth last night when eating a piece of corn on the cob. She was soooo excited. She'd been waiting a long time. She thought she might get $15 or $80 from the tooth fiary. Luckily she was happy with the $1 the tooth fairy ended up giving her. She got to color in a tooth on her school tooth loss chart. :) She's growing up.
