Middle School So Far

Linda is enjoying her first year in middle school. She adjusted really quickly and likes that there are no more recesses. Getting up early has been the biggest adjustment.  It's been interesting to have been able to see things through a boy's eyes last year and then this year through a girl's eyes. Very different. She was a little surprised about all of the boy talk going on. There is lots of "dating" and "going out" and a lot of talk about who likes who. Linda already has an admirer that leaves notes on her desk. Luckily she has a good head on her shoulders and doesn't get swept away by all of it. Sorry kid, Linda won't be dating until she's 16. :) And of course there's the typical girl drama all around her. She manages to stay out of all of that silly stuff and has never felt any pressure to fit in with the crowd. She is a good girl.

She's gotten really involved in the extracurricular activities. She has a different club to go to at lunch nearly everyday. She's joined Chess Club, Marine Biology Club, and Polynesian Club. She joined the after school volleyball and made it on to the team.

She is keeping up really well in her classes. She has all A's except for a B in PE. Curse that darn mile run. They get a grade based on how fast they run it. I don't think it's really a fair way to grade, but I'm not up for the fight. :) She still enjoys her orchestra class as well.

We're so proud of her. She has continued to be a wonderful girl and we're so happy that it's been a good year for her so far.

Suzanne's Baby Shower

Last weekend was Suzanne's baby shower! She is having her 2nd daughter on November 4th. We're so excited. My kids are really excited and I'm happy Suzanne can provide a baby for them to love. :) The baby shower was Tiffany's themed, complete with Tiffany's jewelry for a couple of the shower game prizes. Robert's cousin made us some adorable cupcakes that we sent home as take home gifts.

My girls and Suzanne's daughter, Irene, were helpers at the shower. My niece Elly made them each a cute apron to wear.
Suzanne with all of her nieces that were able to attend.
The only picture of me and my girls together at the shower. :)
We had so much fun celebrating. This is the last grandchild on my side of the family.

Conference Weekend Oct.2015

We all split up for conference weekend. Jane, Claire and I stayed here in Oceanside. We had a nice weekend. We went to Claire's soccer game, went out to eat, went to the mall, and saw a movie at the nice theatre with recliners. We enjoyed watching conference in our jammies.
Robert, Bruce and Linda headed to Jill's house in Henderson, NV. They picked up Sayre and dropped off Linda. Linda had a fun weekend with Jill and Elly. They decorated the house for Halloween, made their own pizzas and went to garage sales. Linda made games for them to play during conference. She had so much fun.
Robert, Bruce and Sayre continued on to Salt Lake City, UT. They attended the priesthood session of conference. They had a great experience. I'm so glad they were able to be at the conference center for Bruce's first time attending. It was Sayre's first time being at a meeting at the conference center. They visited my aunt, ate at The Pie, and stayed at a hotel.
Now it's back to normal life. I'm glad we're all back together again.
