Wolf

Bruce earned his Wolf badge(and I got a Wolf pin) last night at pack meeting.
The last thing he needed to complete was an outdoor flag ceremony. They put him in charge of the one they held before pack meeting began. He demonstrated folding the flag.
Then he conducting the flag raising ceremony and led everyone in the pledge of allegiance.
Way to go Bruce.
In other Bruce news: He did a presentation on Abraham Lincoln last week. Meet Abraham Lincoln. :)

Thompson Family Reunion 2012

This past weekend we were able to go to the Thompson Family Reunion. Bill and Janet Thompson's family hosted. We always love visiting with them. They're all so nice. This is the first reunion we've been able to attend, and we had so much fun.
They had t-shirts made for everyone.
We had great food all day. (cousin Elise, Grandma Thompson, Claire)
We all got to swim. The kids were in the pool three or four times. They had so much fun with all of their Thompson cousins.  (Linda)
(cousin Ethan, and Bruce)
They had a bouncy and face painting too.
The boys all went to the park for a game of soccer.

It was so nice to be with so much family and to visit and catch up with everyone. We're already looking forward to next year!

Here are the kids on the ride home. I think this is evidence that everyone had a great time.

Stuff I Don't Want To Forget

"But mom, do you know when you're getting dirty it means you're having fun?" - Claire

After getting frustrated with me Claire will say, "Just poo-poo forget it mom." :)

Jane, "Mom, I want to go to the Chinese buffet. I Love Chinese food!"
Me, "What's your favorite Chinese food?"
Jane, "Jello and corn." :)

Every night after prayer Claire(3) tells me I can come and lay in her bed with her if I have bad dreams.

Not everyday that you get a call from the school office saying that your daughter forgot to wear her shoes to school. Guess this takes me out of the running for mother of the year.

My 3yr. old back seat driver in traffic. "Come on lady! Guacamole!" You said it, Claire.

This morning a nice guy at the bike rodeo asked Jane what she wanted to be when she grows up. Jane didn't hesitate and replied, "A mom."

Jane, "Mom, I'm hungry. You can make me ANYTHING you want...that I like."

me, "You look cute, Claire."
Claire, "Not cute mom, COOL."

Me. "Bruce, they didn't have tv in the olden days."
Bruce, "I wonder how they survived back then."

"Mom, I'm boring!" - Claire

10th Anniversary

Last month, on April 5th, Robert and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We've had so many great adventures together over the last ten years. I'm glad we have been able to have those adventures side by side. In the last ten years we have been blessed with four beautiful children that have brought us so much joy. We've lived in Oceanside, CA, Indio, CA, La Quinta, CA, Fairfax, VA and now we're back where we started out, in Oceanside.

I remember our first date. Robert knew I was new in town and looking for a job. Before church started one Sunday, he came up and showed me a flyer to a job fair the following weekend in San Diego. He asked if I wanted to go and I said sure. (I have to say he was a little nervous asking.:)) I was so excited that he asked and looked forward to it the entire week. I got up really early on Saturday morning and got showered and dressed and looking nice. I got a call from him just before he was supposed to pick me up and he said he read the flyer wrong and it was actually not until the following weekend. I was totally bummed. But, he asked if I wanted to go to breakfast instead. So, our first date ended up being at Denny's for breakfast. We ended up spending most of the day together and nearly every day together after that until we were engaged 3months later. We've come a long way since then!

This past weekend Robert and I had the opportunity to get away to Las Vegas with no kids. We had a great time attending The Phantom of the Opera, a couple movies, great restaurants, a nice hotel, and lots of time together.
Our Hotel
We had front row seats at the show and it was so great.
Here's to the next 10yrs. and all the many adventures still to come...

Center Stage Singers

Linda had her first performance with her singing group, the Center Stage Singers. They sang songs from different movies. She had a fun time and did great.
Linda is ready to go to the show!
My camera doesn't work well in the dark, but here are a couple pictures. Linda is on the far left.

Spring Break 2012

We kept it simple for Spring Break this year. While Robert worked, the kids and I enjoyed the beautiful outdoors around Oceanside. Some of our activities included..
A nature walk at The Mission,

Hanging out at the beach,

the library,

and farmer's market.

It also included, building forts, renting movies, playing outside, and sleeping in. It was a much needed break from our sometimes hectic schedule.
