Claire Update

Claire will be 8months on Monday of next week. She crawls everywhere now and loves to be upstiars crawling from room to room to see what she can find. She pulls herself up and moves around holding on to things. She is also standing all on her own. This girl wants go GO! She is a slave to the rhythm and can't help dance to any kind of music. She even dances to the sound of the garage door closing. She is my most cuddly baby and is silly and sweet. She has 2 teeth with one coming soon and she LOVES food, any kind.

Congrats to Robert!

Today is Robert's 1yr. mark working for the federal government. That means that as of 4pm eastern time he is off of his 1yr. probation where he could've be fired at will. Job security! They can still transfer federal employees wherever they want, but after moving to the other side of the country, that doesn't scare us. :)

Robert has worked really hard and impressed all the old guys he works with. 1yr. also means Robert is free to apply for other positions within the SBA if he chooses to. We've been patiently awaiting this day.

Snow Day!

We're getting a lot of snow today! It's supposed to be 6" by the time it stops. Bruce is home from school and the Federal Govt. had a 2hr. delay. (although Robert didn't know until he got there.) There probably won't be school tomorrow either. The problem here isn't the snow it's that everything quickly turns to ice and they only plow the major roads because they're not used to too much snow here.

1yr. Fairfax Anniversary

One year ago today, Team Thompson officially moved to Fairfax, Va. What a ride it has been! Since then, Claire was born, Bruce started Kindergarten, I became a MinivanMama, Robert has a great job and Linda and Jane have grown up soooo much! We just signed another 1yr. lease with our landlord. Despite the stairs, we really love our location and the size of our place. Who knows what the next year holds. I certainly would've never thought we'd be here.
Anyway, thanks for all of your love and support over this past year. We appreciate you all so much.
We're having some cake tonight to celebrate.

Visit to the Air Force Memorial

We visited the Air Force memorial the other day. Here are some pics. The one is a pin and pic someone had left at the "lost airmen" portion of the memorial. The 1st pic is a view of DC from the memorial.(you can see the Pentagon to the right) The 3 white towers are huge and there is a big star at the base of it.
