So Long Middle School!

The other night Bruce had his 8th grade awards. Bruce got awards for having straight A's through all three years of middle school. He also received the award for reading the most words out of the entire school, for the second year in a row. His Computer Programming teacher gave him a special award and preceded it by saying how impressed he was with Bruce's programming abilities. He said Bruce could go down to Apple or QualComm right now and get a job.He also got an award in Humanities.
The next day was his actual graduation ceremony. He did it! He survived his middle school years. Unreal! He is ready. He struggled the first few weeks of 6th grade then after that he soared. He is happy to have made a lot of good friends, a lot of which will go to the same high school as him. Bruce is a great student but even a better young man. We couldn't be any prouder. On to new adventures in high school!

He started out at 5' 0" and finished up at 5' 11"!

First & Last Day of Elementary - Jane

Elementary Schools Jane attended:
McAuliffe Elementary School
San Luis Rey Elementary School
Palmquist Elementary School

5th Grade Promotion!

Jane graduated from elementary school! She is an excellent student and leader and we're very proud of all she has accomplished.

She is ready to head to middle school in the fall. Linda will be in the 8th grade so it'll be nice for her to already have at least one friend at the school. It really does seem like the years flew by with Jane. It seems like just yesterday that she was asking every day when she could start Kindergarten. We love our Jane.

Notes from Jane's teacher:
Jane was an absolute shining start this year in my class. I couldn't have asked for a more dedicated, hard working, and focused student. I was able to always count on Jane as a role model for her peers both inside and outside the classroom. She has strong friendships with her peers and her caring and thoughtful nature were assets to our classroom this year. I know she will continue to shine and do great things next year in middle school. It was an absolute pleasure to have you in my class this year Jane!

Yearbook Cover

Jane and her friend got 2nd place in the yearbook cover contest for her school. It appeared on the back cover.

Contacts

Linda is supposed to wear glasses all of the time but has a hard time keeping track of them, so she opted for contacts. Bruce and I already wear them. So, now there are 3 contact wearers in the house. She did a great job getting them in the first time and is enjoying seeing everything so clearly.
