Ice Skating

We got to go ice skating last week and we had so much fun. Our Orthodontist office rented out the rink and let our their clients and their families come for free. Claire was a natural and all of the kids did so well.

They had an Olympic skater there giving free lessons to whoever wanted them. Claire kept going back to learn and then taking a skate around the ice to practice. 

State Cup

Bruce's soccer team, Vista Storm, is competing in the CalSouth State Cup. This weekend they had their first three games here in Oceanside. They won their Saturday games and we just got word that they won Sunday's game.(Bruce doesn't play in the Sunday games) They continue playing next weekend in San Diego. I'll update this post next weekend with how they do!

Here's Linda at the 2nd game on Saturday. She was so sick but she made it through with a soft blanket and a snow cone.

 

1/31/15- His team won their game today so they move on tomorrow's games. They have to win both games tomorrow to move on to to final weekend.

His team lost their first game on Sunday. They had a good run!

Speech Graduate #3

Jane was able to graduate from Speech this morning. She was really excited to graduate, because her teacher gives homemade cookies to each graduate. :) But, she is going to miss going very much. She's worked so hard. Go Jane! Thompson Tuesday at speech is down another Thompson. Good thing Claire still goes to represent. :)

Bruce's Awards

Well, this morning started off with an award's ceremony at Bruce's middle school. Bruce received 3 medals. One for his 4.0 GPA, one for being a peer mentor in Science, and one for PE. We're very proud of him. He's a great kid.

Check Up

Claire had  a well-check with the Pediatrician. She hasn't seen the Dr. in a long time. She's a pretty healthy kid. Here are the stats for my 6 1/2yr. old.

Height: 47"    50th percentile

Weight: 48lbs.   50th percentile

BMI: 49th percentile

Mini-Vacation

My nephew, Brodey, was at a wrestling tournament in LA a few weeks ago so we decided to make a mini-vacation of it. We watched Brodey wrestle, swam at our hotel, went to Downtown Disney, shopped at the Honda Center Ducks store, and visited Corona Del Mar beach. It was a much needed getaway and we had a lot of fun.
