Yearbook Cover

Jane and her friend got 2nd place in the yearbook cover contest for her school. It appeared on the back cover.

Contacts

Linda is supposed to wear glasses all of the time but has a hard time keeping track of them, so she opted for contacts. Bruce and I already wear them. So, now there are 3 contact wearers in the house. She did a great job getting them in the first time and is enjoying seeing everything so clearly.

Spring Break 2017

While Bruce was away at camp all week the girl's and I enjoyed our spring break. It seriously is just what we all needed. We didn't travel anywhere far or do anything extraordinary but we just spent time together and enjoyed the beautiful weather outside.
Grandma Linda came for a visit the first few days. We shopped at the Harbor, made a trip to the library and had a picnic down at Mission Bay.
Since we had to pick Bruce up each day at Fiesta Island we spent a lot of time in Mission Bay. We got some life jackets and the girls had so much fun playing in the water, swimming out to the island, and just playing together. We played at the parks down there too. We also went to a movie. I didn't get a lot of pictures but we had such a nice time not worrying about schedules, electronics, school, work, or anything else.

Mission Accomplished!

Bruce gave up his free time during his spring break a few weeks ago and attended Eagle's Camp every day down at Fiesta Island. He worked so hard while he was there and he was able to complete his last 4 required merit badges. (Camping, Cooking, Personal Management, and Communications) Do you know what that means?! He is completely done with all of the merit badges he needs for an Eagle Scout! Hooray! He really has worked hard for this day and it certainly hasn't all been fun for him. He has really had to get out of his comfort zone and commit to accomplishing this goal he set. Now we start working toward completing an Eagle Scout service project.

First morning at Eagle's Camp. He was nervous. Most kids were there with their friends or troops.
Last day at Eagle's Camp. You can accomplish a lot in a week!
A few pictures of some of the food he made.
The knife he bought at camp.
Bruce, Robert and I are so happy all of the merit badges he needs are behind us. :)

Linda's Braces

Linda got braces on last month. Right now she only has 6 on the top. In about 5 months she'll get a couple more and a kind of hinge piece in the back on both sides. (we're not looking forward to that) After that she'll get the hinges removed and get a full set of braces on top and bottom for the remainder of the time. The Orthodontist thinks about 2 years. Her bottom teeth aren't bad at all. She has a major overbite on top apparently but you don't notice because most of her front teeth are pushed back. It took a week to adjust to the poking and the sore teeth but she's doing really great with them now. We opted for clear because what's $200 when you're already paying $5000!! They look really good.

Happy New Year!

We spent this New Year's Eve at Gregg's house with a few families. We had some good treats and a nice time ringing in the new year.
